AFSA recently attended the COSBOA National Small Business Summit, speaking with small business owners and industry representatives. Key themes included simplifying regulation, compliance and the future of AI – all relevant to how small businesses interact with government and use services like the PPSR.
Some attendees knew the PPSR well, while others were learning about it for the first time. This highlighted the importance of ongoing outreach and education, especially in industries with less exposure to the PPSR.
A standout conversation was with the Australian Traditional Medicine Society (ATMS), Australia’s largest professional association for natural health practitioners.
We discussed how PPSR education and resources could better support their members – many of whom are women-owned small businesses – in navigating financial risk and protecting their assets.
We shared our new small business page and invited feedback to help us tailor future content and tools. These insights and conversations are shaping how we communicate the value of the PPSR across diverse sectors.
